I wouldn't put my faith in Nutanix or Andrea Watkins. The product I was promised never showed up, and I feel like I was led astray. It's completely insincere, especially after hearing their pitch on Hybrid Cloud, which I thought was all set.

We were sold a HCI solution that turned out to be a total letdown. You won't believe the hassle I've had with the supplier, Nutanix. Without diving too deep, let me just say that none of the promises made were fulfilled when the equipment arrived, and now we're stuck trying to return it since it doesn't fit our needs. We were passed around to various Nutanix reps, all of whom attempted to address our problems by tossing out unhelpful suggestions, articles, and impractical solutions that were way off base. After chatting with other suppliers about this mess, they mentioned that this isn't the first time they've seen Nutanix wash their hands of things after the sale! It's downright disgraceful how they treat their customers and partners. My case has even drawn in legal teams and lawyers, all of whom are taking on Nutanix for fraud, while Nutanix continues to dodge accountability!

We've been utilizing Nutanix since the start of 2017, when we transitioned our primary datacenter workloads (around 600 VMs), covering both Production and Dev/Test setups. Since that time, we've been broadening our application to remote/ROBO locations, including our manufacturing facilities and vessels. Right now, we operate over 70 nodes spread across 16 sites/clusters.
Nutanix is a fantastic product that keeps getting better with new features and enhancements. Plus, their Support team is definitely one of their strongest assets. Honestly, it's one of the best support channels I've ever dealt with.
One of the standout features for me is LCM (Life Cycle Management), which allows you to upgrade the AOS (Nutanix software), the hypervisor (AHV, ESXi, etc.), and the firmware for physical components like disks, BIOS, BMC, HBAs, and more.
It's a 'rolling upgrade' method, where the Nutanix software manages the migration of VMs and the entire upgrade process, handling one node at a time.

Nutanix really stands out as an excellent choice.

I've been diving into various HCI options available, and Nutanix offers a pretty comprehensive solution for its users.

The Software Defined approach gives you the freedom to pick your Hypervisor or switch to the no-cost AHV, which lets you fully utilize the integration within their software ecosystem.

Nutanix's data protection features, both local and remote, provide the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery that every customer ought to have in their setup, without needing a separate dedicated solution.

With Data Locality and hot data tiering, you get fantastic performance for applications running in virtual machines, which is a boon for production workloads.

You can monitor and manage everything centrally through Prism, so you’ll have control over your entire infrastructure from a single web console.

I’d recommend Nutanix as a hyper-converged option instead of VMware. It’s a single-box setup that combines compute, networking, and storage, which streamlines our infrastructure by eliminating storage switches. Plus, we get fantastic performance by having both network and compute on the same host.

A real time-saver, space-saver, energy-saver, cooling-saver, and storage-saver - it really helps out the family! :)

I strongly suggest getting a support contract - all requests go straight to Level 3 support, so you won't have to deal with techs who aren't up to speed on the tricky stuff.

Nutanix has truly been everything we hoped for in an HCI setup and then some. We thought the installation and upkeep would be a real hassle, but it turned out to be quite the opposite. From day one, the support has been fantastic, offering us not just solutions but also insights into the why and how of things. This software brings everything together in one place. I run all my apps and databases on Nutanix, and I’ve never faced any downtime, whether it’s maintenance, upgrades, or even disasters. Plus, it’s helped my company cut down on virtualization license expenses and overall data center costs.

Four years back, we swapped out our old VMware and Equallogic virtual setup for an 8 node Nutanix hyperconverged solution, and honestly, we haven't regretted it one bit. It's lightning quick and way simpler to handle and upgrade. The highlight? We can update the firmware without shutting down systems; it’s all handled with just one click while we're on the clock. I also can't say enough good things about the Nutanix support crew; they've been super helpful every time we've reached out.

Truly a great item, straightforward and effective. The one-click upgrade and expansion truly function well.
